DOT DOT JOINS NEW YORK’S NEW MUSEUM CULTURAL INCUBATOR

AR/VR Garage company, DOTDOT have been invited to participate in the NEW INC Cultural Incubator in New York. NEW INC alumni include some of the world’s leading virtual reality practitioners. The DOTDOT team are thrilled to join the new cohort, and will be splitting their time between New Zealand and New York City.

The NZVRARA (The New Zealand VR/AR Association Inc.) and Auckland-based AR/VR
Garage have signed a wide-ranging strategic partnership to accelerate the growth of the virtual
and augmented reality sector in New Zealand.


STAPLES VR:
REDUCING PATIENT ANXIETY WITH VR

Auckland District Health Board and Staples VR have been developing virtual reality (VR) experiences to reduce child patient anxiety levels.

The technology helps young patients prepare for their hospital visit through virtual preparation experiences in radiation therapy, theatre (pre-operation to recovery), MRI, CT, and X-Ray procedures. The project aims to improve the overall hospital experience for child patients, and reduce the need for medication to manage anxiety, achieving better clinical outcomes.


Datacom’s Augmented Reality Team

Datacom has moved its seven-strong augmented reality team into the AR/VR Garage where they are working with Microsoft’s HoloLens technology.


Media Design School PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

Auckland students who are creating digital design projects on two of the world’s hottest technology platforms now have an exciting opportunity to work alongside world-leading creative content companies.

This is thanks to a new agreement between Media Design School (MDS) and Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), which will see MDS using ATEED’s globally connected AR/VR Garage in the Uptown Innovation Hub.
